MJFF's L.A. Benefit Raises Funds for Parkinson's Research
Michael J. Fox and the evening's special guest, Joan Jett
The Michael J. Fox Foundation raised almost $900,000 for Parkinson's research at its L.A. benefit, "A Sunny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson's", held on Wednesday, May 26th in Beverly Hills.
Guests were treated to a special musical performance by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, who were joined on stage by Michael J. Fox for the song "Light of Day". A hilarious performance by comedian Greg Behrendt and an opening act featuring Michael's onscreen moms, Lea Thompson and Meredith Baxter, kept the crowd of nearly 225 guests in stitches.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is deeply grateful to event hosts Shanna and Jon Brooks and Tracy Pollan and Michael J. Fox. The Foundation would also like to thank the incredible efforts of the Benefit Committee:
